Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum - Wk2 2023

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

On Wednesday we visited Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum. We saw their collection of owls, snakes, lizards, and a large tortoise that was actually the most active of all the reptiles. We also met and got to handle a bearded dragon who was getting ready to shed its skin. The had a family picnic in the car as it was so cold outside that the lake was frozen solid. We will be referring to their animals when we begin our study of Carl Von Linnéa's system of animal classification next week.

Tanglewood is a not-for-profit nature center with two trail systems in Elmira, NY. Their mission is "to lead and support education and preservation efforts in our region to achieve a heightened awareness, understanding, and caring for our natural environment." https://www.tanglewoodnaturecenter.com
