On Tuesday we visited Steele Memorial Library to source and reserve reference materials for our upcoming personal projects in Humanities for this Quarter. We will be learning more about the Lunar Calendar leading up to Chinese New Year Celebrations next weekend. Meanwhile, both Jay and Holly have been discussing and researching various aspects of WW2 as part of their modern history unit studies. https://ccld.lib.ny.us
Jay also acted as the sole teenage representative for Teen Space at their monthly Advisory Board meeting, helping them develop new ideas and activities for his age group. He requested a focus on cooking, sewing, and more networking events. Teen Space is a relatively new environment created in Steele Memorial Library to provide a safe space for teens to socialize and engage within a positive and inspiring environment. https://www.stargazette.com/story/news/local/2017/06/09/teen-space-built-elmira-library/378177001/
Holly visited the CCLD MakerSpace to work with their 3D printing machines where she made a cat keyring. CCLD Makerspace is a free community space where people of all ages can come to create and learn about technology and crafts. https://ccldmakerspace.org
